India won the toss and chose to bowl at the Johannesburg ground. Afghanistan could not play the full 50 overs against the Indian bowlers and were all out for 197 runs in 48.2 overs. In reply, India chased the target in 36.4 overs only.
For India, Soumya Pandey took 6 wickets, while Adarsh Sharma finished the match by playing an unbeaten inning of 112 runs.
